Billing — AWS Marketplace
FlowState is available on AWS Marketplace as a SaaS Metered product. Marketplace billing is an alternative to direct Stripe billing, presenting the same product and feature set. See How metering works below for which dimensions meter on this path.
Who should use Marketplace billing
Marketplace billing is best for:
- Organizations that procure SaaS through AWS to draw down against an AWS Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) or AWS commit.
- Teams that want centralized AWS billing rather than a separate FlowState invoice.
- APN partners who already manage their AWS spend through a single AWS account.
Subscribing via AWS Marketplace
- Find FlowState on AWS Marketplace and click Subscribe.
- Review the pricing — it is not per-analysis or per-sync-event. See Metering for the pricing model, and How metering works below for which dimensions meter on this path.
- AWS redirects you to FlowState to link the subscription to your tenant.
Self-service linking is not yet available. After subscribing on AWS Marketplace, contact your FlowState account contact or support to complete linking the subscription to your tenant.
Once linked, metering begins at the next hour boundary.
Same product, same feature set
FlowState presents the same flowstate-pro tier and feature set to Marketplace subscribers as to direct Stripe subscribers. The billing relationship differs — Stripe collects payment for direct subscribers; AWS collects payment for Marketplace subscribers — but the two deal-hour dimensions meter identically on both paths; see How metering works below for the two dimensions that remain Stripe-only, and why.
How metering works
FlowState meters Marketplace subscriptions using AWS’s own Marketplace Metering Service, hourly, per active Marketplace tenant.
Agentic Sales Manager and APN Sync meter on this path exactly as they do on Stripe: true
concurrent-hour accrual (see Metering). These are the two dimensions
registered on FlowState’s Marketplace listing; on your AWS usage report they appear under the
dimension names vsm_deals (Agentic Sales Manager) and apn_deals (APN Sync).
AWS Marketplace bills the sum of every hour’s submitted quantity for a dimension/customer — AWS’s own guidance is explicit (“Each hour, the customer is charged for the total number of provisioned users”; hourly records are deduplicated per customer/dimension/hour but never aggregated across hours) — the same mechanic Stripe’s summed meter aggregation uses. FlowState therefore converts each dimension’s accrued running total into a delta before every hourly usage report, sending only the usage new since the last successfully reported hour, mirroring the conversion already in place on the Stripe side. A final usage report is sent on unsubscribe for whatever remains unreported.
If a report fails to go through, FlowState retries automatically before alerting.
Business-Problem Generations and Marketplace Offers are not metered on this path — a registration fact, not a technical limitation: FlowState’s AWS Marketplace listing has no such dimensions registered. These two remain Stripe-only regardless of which provider bills the tenant’s other usage; see Metering for their pricing.
Your deal data never leaves eu-central-1 — only the usage quantities themselves are sent to AWS’s metering endpoint, which AWS Marketplace requires to be called in us-east-1.
Lifecycle events
AWS Marketplace sends lifecycle notifications to FlowState via SNS:

unsubscribe-success | The tenant linked to that Marketplace subscription — and only that tenant — is soft-deleted, starting the 30-day restore window, and the subscription is marked cancelled. A final metering event is sent for the current hour. Other tenants you own (Stripe-billed, or a second Marketplace subscription) are untouched. |
entitlement-updated | FlowState re-fetches all entitlement pages and refreshes the 5-minute entitlement cache. |
Cancellation
To cancel a Marketplace subscription:
- Go to AWS Marketplace in the AWS Console → Manage subscriptions → FlowState → Actions → Cancel subscription.
- AWS sends an
unsubscribe-pendingevent to FlowState immediately, followed byunsubscribe-successwhen the cancellation is finalized. FlowState sends one final usage report for the current period, then starts the standard 30-day deletion process for your tenant — see Deleting your tenant for what happens and how to restore it within that window.
Do not click “Open billing portal” on the FlowState Settings → Billing page — it only works for Stripe-billed clients and returns an error for Marketplace subscribers. All lifecycle management for Marketplace subscribers goes through the AWS Marketplace console.
Reactivation after cancellation
If you’re still within the 30-day grace period, your tenant and its data can be restored — see Deleting your tenant for how. To resume AWS Marketplace billing after that, subscribe again on AWS Marketplace or contact support.
